It’s ok to run round acting silly, being stupid and gay. Phew.

Met Commissioner compensates journalist arrested for taking photographs in public place and told to stop “running round acting silly, being stupid and gay”

For a while I thought the Met man was getting told off, then I read the piece and realised it was what was originally said to young Jules Mattsson, 15 years old at the time and arrested for taking pics in a public place. His maturity and composure in the face of arrest and harrassment is a lesson to all. Good to see Jules has won his case.

“You know what, I consider you a threat under the Terrorism Act young man. I’ve had enough.”

So have many photographers.

I’d like to think the relationship between police and photographers is getting better, but I have to say I have my doubts. Moral of this story: know your rights. Watch the recording of the police farce below: Here’s to a better relationship between photographers and the police. Cheers.

I followed some of the links and the fact that a law firm has a ‘Police Misconduct Department’ says it all really!

What a waste of time all round. So stupid. This business really needs to be sorted out – the copper’s just got the hump with this guy and decided to make his life difficult. Grrrrrr – makes me really angry.
