What they say about duckrabbit:

'One of the hazards of publishing a well-known photojournalism blog - getting multimedia like yours, where the photos are both powerful and moving, and I end up in tears at my desk.'

Alan Taylor, Boston Big Picture)

'David White's multimedia work with duckrabbit is very exciting.'

Kate Edwards (Guardian Magazine Picture Editor)

'I am a fan of duckrabbit. I am not a fan because I agree with everything Ben has to say, but because he says it without frills and then will spend the time necessary to engage the consequent discussions. Such commitment is a priceless commodity.'

Prison Photography

'I met one of them at an academic conference in the summer. He was the sanest person there, but sure enough by damn gadnabbit ruffled more than a few fluffed up peacock feathers.'

The Photography Pages

'If you haven't seen the duckrabbit blog on multimedia you should.'

Stephen Alvarez

'duckrabbit has done another jaw-dropping job with Condition Critical, a highly commendable and important project for Medecins Sans Frontiers.'

back on the block - Brenda Ann Kenneally

I’ve heard of the photographer Brenda Ann Kenneally before but I’ve never really explored her work until tonight.

Woahhhhh…..I’m blown away.

Her approach is very much in the vein of Joseph Rodriguez – in her honesty, warmth and respectfulness to the people who share their lives with her.

Like Rodriguez, she also shows a long-term commitment to the people she photographs and proves that incredible work can be done on one’s own doorstep – in Kenneally’s case Brooklyn, New York.

Check out some of her amazing multimedia work at the Raw File website. I recommend starting with Andy & Tata. This is where it’s at.

Got to know her work at perpignan last year and thought it was one of the best exhibitions there. she also did a talk, and i left feeing she was one of the most thoughtful and focused photographers, completely committed to the people she was photographing and not really concerned with winning contests or notoriety… (quite refreshing for perpignan, aherm)

  • Ciara. Couldn’t agree more. Kenneally deals with virtually every issue challenging the American disadvantaged. Nothing is a simple fix; as a result her work is beautiful but difficult … and we’re merely viewers.
