What they say about duckrabbit:

'One of the hazards of publishing a well-known photojournalism blog - getting multimedia like yours, where the photos are both powerful and moving, and I end up in tears at my desk.'

Alan Taylor, Boston Big Picture)

'David White's multimedia work with duckrabbit is very exciting.'

Kate Edwards (Guardian Magazine Picture Editor)

'I am a fan of duckrabbit. I am not a fan because I agree with everything Ben has to say, but because he says it without frills and then will spend the time necessary to engage the consequent discussions. Such commitment is a priceless commodity.'

Prison Photography

'I met one of them at an academic conference in the summer. He was the sanest person there, but sure enough by damn gadnabbit ruffled more than a few fluffed up peacock feathers.'

The Photography Pages

'If you haven't seen the duckrabbit blog on multimedia you should.'

Stephen Alvarez

'duckrabbit has done another jaw-dropping job with Condition Critical, a highly commendable and important project for Medecins Sans Frontiers.'

Is duckrabbit the only person dissapointed that Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize?

Seriously, I’m a big Obama fan and I think he’s done a lot already in reaching out to the world, but it seems a bit premature.

America, alongside China and India, is currently responsible for a large proportion of the world’s emissions of co2, the stuff that causes climate change. We’re pretty bad in the UK too.

If the predictions are correct then global warming is going to unleash suffering on a biblical scale.

Now if Obama could get together with the leaders of China and India and create a meaningful plan as to how we stop vast areas of the world going underwater that would be a great, great thing.

For me this award diminishes the nobel peace prize. But then everyone working in media knows that awards are bollocks anyway (accept when you win one!)

  • ‘Premature’ is the word.

  • Im a “fan” of Obama’s rhetoric, which is all he’s exhibited thus far… And lest we forget- mass murderer Henry Kissinger also won the Nobel Peace Prize.

  • I agree. It’s very premature and actually I think it just makes the Nobel prize, and the people who hand it out, look a bit silly. Obama seems like a nice man but he’s done little of substance so far. maybe they’ve given it him simply because he’s not Bush

  • Phew … most people agree.

Stan … yeah that shows just how flawed awards are.

  • Is it just premature, or a (perhaps clumsy) attempt to influence US and international dynamics. If so lets hope it doesn’t backfire. At least Obama has accepted it very humbly. Now if he can pull off including (part) of the taliban in the Afghanistan political process rather than rein-acting Vietnam…….
