What they say about duckrabbit:

'One of the hazards of publishing a well-known photojournalism blog - getting multimedia like yours, where the photos are both powerful and moving, and I end up in tears at my desk.'

Alan Taylor, Boston Big Picture)

'David White's multimedia work with duckrabbit is very exciting.'

Kate Edwards (Guardian Magazine Picture Editor)

'I am a fan of duckrabbit. I am not a fan because I agree with everything Ben has to say, but because he says it without frills and then will spend the time necessary to engage the consequent discussions. Such commitment is a priceless commodity.'

Prison Photography

'I met one of them at an academic conference in the summer. He was the sanest person there, but sure enough by damn gadnabbit ruffled more than a few fluffed up peacock feathers.'

The Photography Pages

'If you haven't seen the duckrabbit blog on multimedia you should.'

Stephen Alvarez

'duckrabbit has done another jaw-dropping job with Condition Critical, a highly commendable and important project for Medecins Sans Frontiers.'

Take that Nikon!…facebook on the Canon 5d mkII.

I posted here a few days ago about the incongruous addition of space invaders on the Nikon D3X.
Not to be outdone, Canon fans have been working hard on providing something equally useful/useless on the 5dmkII. Over on his technoblog, camhackerrzz has reverse engineered Canon’s wireless ftp file transmitter (WFT-E4) using the CHDK protocols to provide internet access for the camera. How that is useful, I’m not sure…but I imagine it could be…one of the first uses camhackerzz has used it for is facebook. Not my first choice, but then I’m not a fan of telling everyone what I’m up to all day long. Where will this end? Twitter on your compact? Ebay on your Phase One? Whatever..it’s a brave new world. I’m not sure the screen on the camera is really up to the job of tiny font sizes..but in a pinch I suppose it could work…you can apparently move around the browser window with the scroll wheel. Give it 2 years and all cameras will be able to go online.

  • shit duckrabbit, I followed the instructions, downloaded the software and set it to FACEBOOK mode but all the brick will do now is stream re-runs of the Dukes Of Hazard.

PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME

  • WTF? I did the same and now my camera is streaming JAWS. Is this some kind of joke by Nikon?

  • God…I hadn’t thought that it might be a dastardly move by Nikon….that makes sense….having said that, watching the Dukes of Hazard doesn’t sound too bad…..but…BE CAREFUL PEOPLE…..hack at your own risk….who knows where this could lead..
Dya reckon I could get space odyssey 2001 to play? I heard Kubrick used a mkII for that….

  • sideways

I want to download skype in the camera so I can talk to my friends while taking pictures, do you reckon this is possible?

  • my canon g9 doubles up as a handy cricket bat. while twittering and streaming obscure radiohead covers.

  • Is this some kind of joke? If so it’s not funny … I just spent two days trying to get Facebook on my Nikon!
