What they say about duckrabbit:

'One of the hazards of publishing a well-known photojournalism blog - getting multimedia like yours, where the photos are both powerful and moving, and I end up in tears at my desk.'

Alan Taylor, Boston Big Picture)

'David White's multimedia work with duckrabbit is very exciting.'

Kate Edwards (Guardian Magazine Picture Editor)

'I am a fan of duckrabbit. I am not a fan because I agree with everything Ben has to say, but because he says it without frills and then will spend the time necessary to engage the consequent discussions. Such commitment is a priceless commodity.'

Prison Photography

'I met one of them at an academic conference in the summer. He was the sanest person there, but sure enough by damn gadnabbit ruffled more than a few fluffed up peacock feathers.'

The Photography Pages

'If you haven't seen the duckrabbit blog on multimedia you should.'

Stephen Alvarez

'duckrabbit has done another jaw-dropping job with Condition Critical, a highly commendable and important project for Medecins Sans Frontiers.'

The Travel Photographer

You can probably guess

which country on this planet has the shame of containing the most people displaced from their homes.

No prizes, its Sudan.

But you might be surprised to discover the country that comes second and for a long time was first?

Columbia.

According to some sources over four million people are displaced. That’s half the population of London forced from their homes.

The only time we hear about Columbia in the UK is when someone from our neck of the woods gets kidnapped, so this audio slideshow by the New York Times should be an education.

The photos have been converted to the obligatory black and white, just in case you weren’t getting the message that these peoples lives are miserable enough.

Its a shame that the reporter Simon Romero didn’t allow the indigenous people to speak for themselves. He should have asked duckrabbit’s Benjamin Chesterton for some lessons in recording audio.

Colombia’s Indians Displaced

In western Colombia, the Embera find themselves at the mercy of armed groups fighting each other for control of the cocaine trade and forcing thousands of indigenous people to flee.
