What they say about duckrabbit:

'One of the hazards of publishing a well-known photojournalism blog - getting multimedia like yours, where the photos are both powerful and moving, and I end up in tears at my desk.'

Alan Taylor, Boston Big Picture)

'David White's multimedia work with duckrabbit is very exciting.'

Kate Edwards (Guardian Magazine Picture Editor)

'I am a fan of duckrabbit. I am not a fan because I agree with everything Ben has to say, but because he says it without frills and then will spend the time necessary to engage the consequent discussions. Such commitment is a priceless commodity.'

Prison Photography

'I met one of them at an academic conference in the summer. He was the sanest person there, but sure enough by damn gadnabbit ruffled more than a few fluffed up peacock feathers.'

The Photography Pages

'If you haven't seen the duckrabbit blog on multimedia you should.'

Stephen Alvarez

'duckrabbit has done another jaw-dropping job with Condition Critical, a highly commendable and important project for Medecins Sans Frontiers.'

I shall try to post a pic or two every now and then..today I am going to show you a few shots that I have submitted to the AOP‘s
red dot auction in aid of photovoice.. a very good cause, and a site well worth checking out.

Young Russian sailors file past Kursk sub mariner's coffins, St.Petersburg naval academy, Russia.

Above is a shot I took of young Russian sailors filing past the coffins of Kursk sub mariners. Picture was taken at the St.Petersburg naval academy, a year and a half after the Kursk disaster. The last bodies had finally been pulled up. I shot the story for M magazine, a sorely missed mag that was a pleasure to work for. As usual however all the mono work was unpublished. The above pic I like for its combination of movement and stillness, and how it hopefully asks you to contemplate the future of the sailors you can see. I don’t like talking about aesthetics when it’s a shot like this however..it was a tragic story and I shall never forget the distress and anger of the widows.

This is a great shot David … its interesting how you couldn’t imagine it to be shot in anything but black and white … but maybe that’s just lack of imagination on my part!
