duckrabbit, some sweet news

duckrabbit has just got the nod for a grant from the warm and supportive people at the  CBA. This means that we’ll be off to Bangladesh and the Maldives covering stories related to climate change. What’s really important is the money specifically supports a multimedia approach to photojournalism. It’s a recognition that there are fresh ways of telling stories outside of the printed page.

It will be the first time David and I have worked together overseas, though we met in Egypt.  And of course this being a duckrabbit project we’ll be offering a workshop for local photographers who are interested in using multimedia to tell  stories.

That’s important to duckrabbit.  We grew out of a training project in Kenya that Benjamin ran, which was a continuation from his work in Ethiopia training journalists.

Think about it.

Its just as important who is telling a story, as the fact that a story gets told.

Power to the people. No really.
