What they say about duckrabbit:

'One of the hazards of publishing a well-known photojournalism blog - getting multimedia like yours, where the photos are both powerful and moving, and I end up in tears at my desk.'

Alan Taylor, Boston Big Picture)

'David White's multimedia work with duckrabbit is very exciting.'

Kate Edwards (Guardian Magazine Picture Editor)

'I am a fan of duckrabbit. I am not a fan because I agree with everything Ben has to say, but because he says it without frills and then will spend the time necessary to engage the consequent discussions. Such commitment is a priceless commodity.'

Prison Photography

'I met one of them at an academic conference in the summer. He was the sanest person there, but sure enough by damn gadnabbit ruffled more than a few fluffed up peacock feathers.'

The Photography Pages

'If you haven't seen the duckrabbit blog on multimedia you should.'

Stephen Alvarez

'duckrabbit has done another jaw-dropping job with Condition Critical, a highly commendable and important project for Medecins Sans Frontiers.'

The power of positive thinking

Don’t worry duckrabbit’s not about to get all self help on you but I thought I’d just share an experience recently that really touched me.

I’ve been teaching my youngest son, Luka, to swim for couple of months after he decided to kick ‘proper lessons’ into touch.¬† Last week I told him he could have a prize if he swam a width of the pool unaided. To be honest I didn’t think he stood a chance.

About half way across and I wasn’t sure if he was waving or drowning but he started chanting ‘I can do it, I can do it, I can do it’, all the way to the other side.

I thought I was teaching Luka how to swim but it turns out my four year old was teaching me the power of positivity.

It’s great if somebody believes in you but even if they don’t you can do it. Just ask Luka.

  • That’s one brave, determined little man ya got there- hope he enjoyed his reward!

Whenever asked, I reply that, yes indeed, I do know how to swim- and very well, thank you very much (can’t do it for shit, but I damn well know how).
