OXFAM See for Yourself campaign launches

Oxfam launched their ‘See for Yourself’ UK fundraising campaign this week. Duckrabbit have been working with Oxfam for the past three months to produce a series of TV adverts and photography for the campaign. This January we went to Zimbabwe to film in the Gutu region, at and around one of Oxfam’s large irrigation projects. With the duckrabbit/Oxfam team was British Oxfam supporter Jodie Sandford who had applied for the chance to see for herself what her £3 a month donation was helping to fund.

The work produced from this trip represent a unique approach to fundraising advertising. None of the adverts or online materials have been scripted – they are produced from the authentic reactions of an Oxfam supporter to what she saw and heard in the field.

We were inspired by the hard work and commitment we saw from the Oxfam team we worked with in Oxford and particularly their people in Zimbabwe who showed us exactly why Oxfam is an organisation well worth supporting.

You can see all of the adverts and online edits that we produced here.  The TV ads will be aired on Channel 4, ITV and a full range of digital channels, including ITV3, National Geographic, Discovery, Sky Living, Sony TV, CBS Drama, Olive, True Movies, More4, Dave and True Movies.

  • Thank you for your brilliant course. I found it inspirational and just the thing to get my career moving again after such a long break. I am doing the interviews for my first film tomorrow. Michael Lishman, Photographer.
  • I’m so pleased that the other guy got a last minute call to Chad and that I could jump in in his place. I can’t think why I waited so long to get properly ‘duckrabbited’! The whole process of making photofilms and the end result makes photography and storytelling completely come alive for me. Those three days felt like the best spent three days in years – it was a total pleasure to be absorbed in learning how to make my own photofilms effectively – to understand how to communicate a story in a way that is powerful and compelling.
